As Avid continues to evolve Avid Media Composer, close compatibility with third-party storage platforms remains essential for professional media workflows.
Following Avid’s recent announcement that, starting with Media Composer 2026.8, project sharing on third-party storage will be supported exclusively with Media Composer Enterprise, particular attention is being given to the integration of the ELEMENTS platform with the new, overhauled bin locking functionality.
ELEMENTS has been accepted into the Avid Media Composer Beta Testing Programme, providing early access to upcoming Media Composer versions ahead of their public release. This enables comprehensive testing of project sharing, bin locking and other new functionality with the ELEMENTS platform, helping ensure compatibility and a seamless user experience from the moment new releases become available.
Testing compatibility before release
For media teams working with shared storage, reliable compatibility is critical. Editors need to collaborate and work with shared media without worrying about whether a software update will affect their workflows.
Participation in the beta programme enables ELEMENTS to validate upcoming Media Composer releases at an early stage and continuously strengthen the compatibility and reliability of the platform.
Strengthening our collaboration with Avid
The beta programme further strengthens the close collaboration between ELEMENTS and Avid. This collaboration has also resulted in a Panel integration for Media Composer, providing users with direct access to the Media Library and its advanced collaboration features from within Media Composer. Previewing, linking and importing footage, as well as adding comments and sharing the clips with external users are just some of the possibilities that this integration offers.
With early access to upcoming releases, ELEMENTS can test and validate new Avid functionality ahead of public availability, helping ensure a reliable and seamless experience for media professionals.
