Systems Engineer (Los Angeles, United States)

  • Working on compelling and sophisticated projects in the broadcast and post-production/VFX industry
  • Install, manage and maintain various SAN/NAS environments at customers’ facilities, both remotely and on-site
  • Support our Product Development Department in qualification and evaluation of hardware products that facilitate or complement our server appliances
  • Support our Pre-Sales Engineers to plan and design end-to-end digital media workflows and shared media file storage systems, including back-up and archive solutions

What You Need for this Position

  • Multi-task and time management skills
  • Vast knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) systems (specifically StorNext/Xsan) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems, including all related components (disk arrays, switches, LTO etc)
  • A deep understanding of Ethernet and Fibre Channel networking
  • Experience with Linux, Windows and OSX
  • An understanding of shared media workflows, archive and backup solutions
  • Experience in server and storage solutions designed for the broadcast and post-production industry and media production applications (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer etc.) is a plus

  • Analyze the state of a customer’s current infrastructure and operations and evaluate future needs and requirements (both technical and regarding workflows)
  • Identify opportunities and develop technical solutions to meet customer’s needs and requirements
  • Work with customers to determine and identify their strategic vision, objectives and needs and design SAN/NAS solutions incorporating our products and services
  • Assist the sales group with requests for quotes, information, bids, proposals and statement of work
  • Provide technical pre-sales support to develop the sales pipeline

What You Need for this Position

  • Experience in planning and designing SAN/NAS environments in the media and entertainment field
  • Vast knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) systems (specifically StorNext/Xsan) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems, including all related components (disk arrays, switches, LTO etc)

  • Deliver high-quality technical assistance to ELEMENTS’ European customers utilizing our hardware and software solutions
  • Diagnose and solve technical issues in high-performance-computing SAN/NAS environments, including configuration assistance and troubleshooting of ELEMENTS’ products and other peripheral systems (e.g. networking equipment, switches etc)
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support (hardware and software) in a professional and timely manner through telephone, electronic communication and on-site
  • Work cross-functionally with the Product Development, Documentation, and Technical Support teams to investigate and resolve problems

What You Need for this Position

  • Multi-task and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex SAN/NAS set-ups (hardware and software) in the post-production and broadcast field
  • Strong ability to independently debug broad, complex, and unique systems with mixed media and protocols
  • Vast knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) systems (specifically StorNext/Xsan) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems, including all related components (disk arrays, switches, LTO etc)
  • A highly organized personality with critical attention to details
