AI Voice Convert
This awesome new AI-driven voice replacement tool allows you to swap one speaking voice for another. It allows you to swap your own voiceover with another one, replace noisy recordings with clean audio by using your own voice as a reference model, train a model on an actor’s voice to re-record lines without bringing them back to the studio or even transform an actor’s voice entirely into someone else’s, all while preserving pitch, emotion, and sync.
Music Editor
A similar feature is already familiar to Premiere Pro users as Remix. It allows you to retime the music and seamlessly extend or shorten it to the length of your edit. The tool analyzes the track for logical transition points and adjusts the structure based on whether you need to extend or shorten the piece. It also tries to preserve natural endings or fades when possible, making it easier to fit music to your timeline without noticeable artifacts or awkward cuts.
Rather than using time compression or pitch shifting, it restructures music by repeating or removing sections, similar to what a music editor might do manually.
AI Multicam SmartSwitch
Multicam SmartSwitch which analyzes all multicam camera angles and automatically cuts to the most appropriate angle, based on who the active speaker is. This feature doesn’t just use the audio track to determine which angle is best but includes other video related traits, such as lip movement in the frame, and if the shot is a wide or close up – which it can automatically detect. According to Blackmagic Design, it has been trained on thousands of hours of multicam footage. It is a perfect tool to do a good first pass of multicam editing and have a great starting point for further editing.
Intelliscript
Built on Resolve’s Transcription Engine, IntelliScript can match spoken dialogue to the original script and automatically build a rough-cut directly in the timeline. It’s particularly useful for organizing multiple takes or quickly assembling scenes. Even if the actor deviates slightly from the written script, using similar phrases or ad-libbing, IntelliScript is designed to understand the context and still match the dialogue accurately. This makes it a helpful tool for speeding up the early stages of editing, especially in dialogue-heavy projects.
AI Beat Detector
A small yet highly practical addition in DaVinci Resolve 20 is automatic beat detection. This feature is especially useful for music videos, trailers, or any project where syncing visuals to audio matters. Resolve can now analyze music tracks and mark the beats, making it much easier to align edits, transitions, or effects with the rhythm. You can also snap edits directly to these beat markers, simplifying the process of on-beat editing.
ELEMENTS Integration
DaVinci Resolve and the ELEMENTS Media Library are integrated in a way that allows you to greatly increase efficiency in your collaborative workflows. Import clips or even whole rough-cuts into DaVinci Resolve with a single click in the ELEMENTS Panel and keep all comments made in the Media Library. The panel allows you to save time by utilising Media Library proxies for offline editing in Resolve and allows you to easily start predefined automations and even organise footage on your ELEMENTS system.
