Ending support for Web UI versions prior to 3.0
Every part of the ELEMENTS ecosystem is a product of continual development and improvement, heavily influenced by user feedback. With every version of our Web UI and the ELEMENTS Client we improve existing features and add great new ones. For this reason, system updates bring about new functionalities that increase the efficiency of your workflows. In order to provide you with the best possible experience and to continue providing great support, we have decided to discontinue old WebUI software versions.
Therefore, from the January 1st, 2023, ELEMENTS is ending support for Web UI versions before the version 3.0.
Update period
Customers that are still running WebUI versions 1.x and 2.x on their ELEMENTS system and are under a valid support contract can receive a Web UI update to the latest master release as part of their support contract until December 31st, 2022. After this date system updates of discontinued software versions will only be available at a professional service charge.
An update of your ELEMENTS environment is a straightforward process that can usually be carried out in around 2 hours. In many cases, this process doesn’t require full system downtime and can therefore be done during normal working hours. The update does not affect the settings of the system (e.g. users, media roots, share links), nor does it affect the data stored on it. After the update, it is necessary to update the ELEMENTS client tools on your workstations and depending on the Media Library usage, a reindex of the search feature can take a couple of hours.
The Release notes section on the Status page of your ELEMENTS system lists the newest features and improvements while a more detailed description can be found in the documentation of the deployed Web UI version.
Let’s schedule your system update.
