File sequences in a directory are usually placed on disks based in the order they were written. With our disc space reservation we keep these files together, even if other applications are writing at the same time in different directories or from different clients. The feature also has the ability to reduce file system free space fragmentation, since collections of consecutive files are typically removed consecutively. Instead of allocating only a single file, we recognize the group character of files and therefore allocate them in the best possible way.
