The IBC is back!

After a two year absence we are finally able to welcome you once again to the IBC show, which takes place in Amsterdam from 9 – 12 September. Visit our brand new, larger booth, brimming with our latest innovations, at stand 7.B25 in the center of Hall 7.

The Media & Entertainment industry is on a brink of large structural changes, changes that are powered by the raw potential of cloud computing technologies. The ELEMENTS platform offers ways to seamlessly integrate the cloud and its benefits into your workflows, but our latest features will revolutionize the way that we think about cloud workflows.

Cloud, On-Premise Storage, Workflow Tools – United Under One Platform

From day one, the ELEMENTS ecosystem has been developed to provide maximum flexibility and efficiency for the most modern media workflows. Now, as cloud adoption is gaining even more momentum throughout the Media & Entertainment industry, the ELEMENTS concept of a centralized media platform is receiving much attention. This approach means that you can seamlessly access and manage high-performance, on-premise storage together with cloud storage, all under one roof. Advanced tools such as the Media Library, the ELEMENTS Client, the intuitive permissions management layer and our powerful Automation Engine, reduce work and allow users to realize the full potential of Hybrid Cloud, even without any technical knowledge.

Media Library Updates

The support for cloud services has also been expanded in the ELEMENTS Media Library. Connecting the Media Library to the cloud lets users preview, share and collaborate on the footage as easily as if it were stored on the on-premise storage. The Media Library also allows external users to upload footage securely and supports full metadata transfer (even between separate ELEMENTS systems). The AAF export functionality was added to allow rough-cuts to be imported into Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and many other professional applications.

An all-new File System

To support evolving requirements while maintaining the highest levels of performance, ELEMENTS has introduced BeeGFS; an ultramodern file system that is powering a number of the world’s fastest supercomputers. With BeeGFS, the Media & Entertainment industry gains a game-changing file system that was developed by the German Fraunhofer Center for High-Performance Computing. Last year we demonstrated just how powerful the ELEMENTS platform partnered with BeeGFS really is, when we achieved the highest score in a number of metrics in the SPEC SFS VDA Benchmark. These include the all-time highest stream count and throughput, highest stream count per storage device, while also achieving the highest score for CPU and RAM efficiency. Since the introduction, we have shipped a number of systems running BeeGFS, and alongside our customers, we are very satisfied with the results. We are looking forward to sharing these real-world experiences with you.

BOLT Performance Update Preview

One of the fastest media storage solutions on the market, the all-NVMe ELEMENTS BOLT, will soon be even faster! This has been made possible by the latest updates on the hardware platform and the introduction of PCIe 4.0. The upcoming generation of 2U BOLT chassis can deliver up to 70GB per second.

ELEMENTS Bolt Front

This ground-breaking performance, coupled with the high capacity of up to 300TB per chassis, means that BOLT can easily power the most demanding workflows such as color grading and VFX, while at the same time eliminates the need to regularly move files between disk and NVMe. Along with its incredible performance, BOLT still consumes only around a tenth of the power of a regular, disk-based shared storage device with the same performance. Simpler operation, better performance, good for the environment.

Visit our stand to find out more about the new ELEMENTS BOLT prototype.
